The reports of knee problems are no joke.
Congrats on the new cycle! I grew in bicycle shops and I am working at my favorite local shop for the summer again. I love Bianchi's, good choice!
I do about 50-75 miles a week on my cycle and the best advice I can give is drink water like its all going to evaporate off the earth tommorrow, BEFORE, during and after the ride.
Get some shoes and pedals. You'll be putting at 40% more power to the back wheel spinning your legs, not just mashing on the downstroke. I have narrow feet and Pearl Izumi's shoes fit me best, Shimano's are wide. Stay away from Lake in my expierence, bargain shoes. Pearl Izumi has sent me 2 pairs of of their top end shoes for free after I've managaed to delaminate the sole after serious mileage, no questions asked (it was really just wear and tear in my opinion). For pedals I reccomend TIME, Crank brothers or speedplay. Do you know of the big discount websites? http://www.supergo.com, http://www.123bikes.com.
Don't forget to support the best local shop around you!
