it's a warning to breeding-age females
kind of a non-fatal darwin test
it gives the guys at the tire shop nightmares
it's money not spent on maintenance
everybody who wants blue LED windshield squirters already has them
you can't find neon green triple wipers anymore
you can't find the license plate frames with the chase lights anymore either (thank god)
3. profit!
it's a way to say "I spent $3000 and all i got was these ugly chromies and rubberbands!"
it does free up some stock wheels and tires for use in winter
the good part is, at least they don't make 24" spinner hubcaps (not yet anyway)
(i'm kidding, mostly)
