Maybe, but I think it also depends on how much horsepower the car has. Over about 300 hp or so I think a RWD car with a good suspension is better on the road, assuming dry roads, because of torque steer issues. Plus it's SO nice to kick the tail out with some power!
But on public roads FWD or RWD really doesn't matter a whole lot. For all around use FWD is probably better.
