My folks bought a V4 96 in 1972, when I was three years old. I learned to drive in that car 14 years later. I was also able to drive their '78 99L, which was bought back by SAAB after 8 years/150,000 miles due to rusting out from a bad Belgian paint job. By the time I went to college, these cars had been replaced with two c900s. I usually got to drive the '80 900GLi (hatch) but sometimes drove the '83 900 4dr.

My first car purchase was a '83 900T hatch. Rose Quartz, it went from 135,000 miles to 225,000 miles before retirement due to rust.

The next car was a '86 900T hatch. Rose Quartz(slightly lighter color than the previous car), driven from 160,000 to 205,000 miles before the transmission failed.

I then bought my mom's old '86 900 4dr for the dealer's trade-in offer when she was upgrading. It lasted a year or so before its transmission blew up. The occasionally-functional odometer read 185,000 when I got the car and gradually crept up to 190,000 after at least 15,000 miles of driving.

Next was a '86 SPG which I drove from 165,000 miles up to 250,000 before rust-induced retirement. This car was my favorite SAAB ever, and I will eventually get another one or at least another c900T hatch to which I can add all of the SPG goodies and other modifications which are currently in storage.

Since then, I have been driving work vehicles (a '95 chevy 2500 pickup, then a '03 GMC Safari cargo van.) They just make me miss the SPG that much more.

In my post-college days, my folks have had a '89 900 hatch, a '91 9000, a '01 9-3 and a '01 9-5. I have been able to drive them all along the way. At this point, the only SAABs I'm not familiar with are the 92, 93, 95, sonetts, 9-2, 9-7, and 9-3ss. I also have never driven a SAAB with an automatic transmission.
