Old thread, I know, but this kind of off-the-cuff, unsubstantiated argument drives me up the wall...this "I read some article," "this other article," "they say...it says,"...who are YOUR sources and how reliable are THEY? Remember all the articles a few weeks ago saying the new particle accelerator in Europe would create a blackhole and destroy the world...just because somebody claims something doesn't make it true. It is the overall weight of argument and the consensus of the research community that offers the best chance of correctly predicting an outcome. Global warming skeptics always begin by saying the scientific consensus has no evidence or is orchestrating a huge conspiracy and then continues with the most inane BS arguments imaginable. You question their research but where is yours...and not the bogus "Oh it snowed yesterday, there is no global warming" or "the earth used to be hot, so it's okay." Read and understand the argument before you debunk it...things are not black and white; for instance, Global warming could shut down the gulf stream and send England back to the ice age...nobody knows for sure. But it is clear that only a fool in denial could believe that 100 years of pumping the atmosphere full of trillions of tons of extra CO2 previously sequestered underground along with a toxic stew of other pollutants would have no effect on the atmosphere.
