at least in NY, unregistered, uninsured vehicle, misdemeanor, points, lock up, etc.
A few months ago two characters who wanted thir just deceased friend's welfare check cashed rolled him to the check cashing place on a desk chair, and a detective having lunch looked out, recognized the stiff for what it was, and locked them up. If not for the lunch event, they probably would have made it. (they were going to say he was nodding out, I guess).
