Bought a vehicle in Long Island NY once. Brought along a FL temp tag and screwed it on with screws and extra large flat washers. Made it to DC area and while getting gas, noticed the tag was torn off and a small paper strip was left at the top with "Florida" on it. Figured I had made it that far and there was no other real means to get it replaced halfway on the trip so just treked on to FL. Made it home without incident and strangely had three cops pass by in the lane beside me from DC to FL (all were within their jurisdictions too)
