My degree is Mechanical, but my 30 years of work has been evenly split between Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil. Of these I enjoy Civil the most.
Obviously providing a foundation plan for the new owner of the play structure should be no sweat for you!
Two bits of advise:
1) Take the Fundamental of Enginering exam during your final semester.
2) Establish your NCEES Record at the earliest possible date. I am in the process of establishing my NCEES Record now and the supervisors/references for the early years of my career are now in their 80's.
