people by standardized tests. These are a scam like the SAT, GMAT, etc.
The personality/skill profile tests are there to give a company an out if they want to fire someone, or justify sticking someone in a box. IMHO they show an inability on the part of management, as well as a laziness in their approach to finding the kind of people who will help make a company successful. Remember, to most companies people are ultimately just tools. People may be a company's most important assets, but most companies will put people in jobs they may not fit in just so a slot can be filled.
If a company doesn't use an interview and evaluation process that provides a sense of how someone will fit into their organization and is just hiring warm bodies who pass some test, it's not a place worth working for.
