I mean, it's not like they simply took an engine and remapped the ECU and that is all. It has to certainly have actual upgrades internally to be able to handle the extra power. Everything he was telling me sounded like crap, and after arguing about it for a while I realized this is one of those people who not only has to be right, but believes he is right, so there really is no way to win.
Thanks for your explanations, they seem to make the most sense. As far as my friend, well...he can go on thinking what he wants to think. Probably won't be driving him too many times as I'll be getting fed up hearing about his strong felt opinion on the matter.
