Rico, you must be close to me in more ways than one. Your list pretty much matches mine. I am in Morton, and have made a similar review of options. Not too keen on local BMW and Merc / Audi / VW dealer. We now have an Acura dealer, but I don't find those cars very attractive (even though the Honda / Acura dealership is a good organization). Infiniti G37 looks good, but as you point out, no dealer closer than Chicago area.
Few American cars that look like alternatives to Saab; Buick LaCrosse too big and heavy (and slow); a higher-performance version of the Malibu would be a choice, but Chevy doesn't offer that. I am in same position as when we moved here in 1977 and I was driving a 1975 Saab 99.
I guess I'll be looking at Mercedes or Audi, and perhaps from the dealer in Springfield, which has a strong reputation and services customers here.
Good luck with your quest.
