Why do you say lighter cars are easier to roll?

Lighter cars (not small sport utes) tend to have a lower center of gravity which should make them harder to roll. And almost any car is harder to roll than an SUV. However, any car can roll if it gets sideways and hits a solid object like a curb, or goes off the edge of a road and down a slope, etc., while the driver is panicking and turning the wheel the wrong way.
But maybe more to the point, how well do the roofs hold up? As others have noted, many smaller cars don't seem to do so well in rollovers. My sense when I'm in some smaller or even mid-size rentals is that the pillars and roof structures are not all that sturdy.
While the Mustang shown in the other post was on a track, the same thing can happen on a regular road. I'm not surprised the roof came down on that car, but that's about the worst case scenario for a roof collapse. Much different than a normal lateral roll.
