Heavier cars "should" be equipped with tires to match. Then the car's mass drops out of all the equations. But you've hit on many of the reasons why you can't find 2 cars of very different weight without also having a whole lot of other differences. It's not the car's MASS that makes the difference. It's all these other things that can't scale perfectly.
