Funny customer stories part one

The most odd and eccentric customers I ever ecountered were those at Haywood/ Clarke(now defucnt) in Midlothian/Richmond, Virginia.
I was called to the parts department to speak with a potential customer over the counter. It was a new SAAB franchise and I had to train the entire dealership in the ways of SAAB. A man claiming to be an engineer was trying to buy an ABS assembly for his 88 9000. The part was about $2,500.
I asked to look at the car and he agreed. I then reported back that there was a saftey recall concerning the transmission kickdown cable rubbing against the brakefluid lines and that I would repair the car free of charge, but I would have to order the parts overnight.
The man became angry with me and left with a leaking brakepipe. I never saw him again. He did buy a bottle of brake fluid. I have many more stories about you people. Not all of you, but some. I could publish a small book. Most of these stories will be about Richmond. I have not seen this behavior much in Northern Virginia or Arizona. Some, but not much.
