Guys, I am in the process of replacing the motherboard, CPU, and RAM in my father's computer. I have built probably 20 computers in my life, just not in the last 7-8 years. I bought a motherboard, CPU, and RAM on New Egg and it would not boot up. I tried two different power supplies. The monitor would not even turn on, no video, hard drives would not spin up, NOTHING. The CPU fan would spin slowly.. thats it. So New Egg sent me a replacement... And the exact same problem. So New Egg gave me a full refund. I then ordered a different motherboard, CPU, and RAM. All brand new. I made sure to order one of the highest rated motherboards on their website in terms of durability. (Gigabyte board w/ Phenom II chip and 2GB Kingston RAM). Guess what? The exact same problem. CPU fan turns slowly, but no video, no hard drives spinning up, nothing. I have tried two Antec power supplies (300 and 500 watts) and the power supply from a brand new Dell computer in the same household. Still the same result.. nothing. Is it really possible that I received THREE Dead On Arrival motherboards from New Egg? I have read all the manuals very carefully, making sure to order the correct RAM, chip etc. I am really at a loss here. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Robert
