better to ask this on the 9-5 board, but yeah, Saabs are a blast, you will never be able to go back. You will save $$ by learning about the cars here, both before purchase + through the ownership. Also good to find a good indy (some are site sponsors), so you can pick and choose some DIY but not get in over your head... Re the 1999, there's no need to own a V6 in a Saab for power... the Aero is not a V6, yet it is faster... that said, there are pros + cons to both engines, + people experienced with both (eg I think Larry West has had a couple of V6's + knows a ton about them)... early model years tend to have more issues than more mature model years... 1999 is essentially the first model year for the 9-5... the 9-5 is an amazing highway car! if you find a good one, you will love it!
