a '91 Toyota pickup, extended cab, 4x4, 4 cylinder, 5 speed. Bought it new and drove it 150K. I absolutely loved it and wish I'd driven it another 150K. But let me get this straight, in 80K you haven't put in spark plugs, or an air cleaner, or fan belt or brakes or any other wear items? I find that hard to beleive.
Most people tend not to take very good care of Japanese cars and that was part of my point. By the time they get to the $5K price range they often need a lot as a result. European cars are usually better cared for. Typically a $5K Saab with 100K (assuming it's had resonable care) on it will only need wear items replace for the next 50 or 60K. But the difference is that the Saab is a so much nicer car to own and drive
