I personally would not buy one - just because I am a Europhile and I think that magically a Swede or Belgian person assembling a part will somehow magically do it better (don't ask me why - I'll admit it is not a rational way to think). In all likelihood the quality of a Chinese made Volvo would be comparable to those assembled in Sweden or Belgium.
I have a Belgian made 06 S60, and it is and has remained bullet proof for nearly 5 years and 62K. Not a thing wrong with it. Though I love my 03 9-3 dearly, I must admit that it has seen the inside of the dealer's service bays way too often (almost all warranty/recall work) - the Volvo, never.
Maybe Ford deserves some credit for the fine quality of Volvos - I have heard their assembly operations are pretty much tops these days.
