Roger: It seems to me that there ought to be a pre-med adviser/advisory group at your son's undergraduate institution who could give him some informed opinion on his status vis a vis med school admission and his chances of gaining acceptance into any given med school. In fact, most med schools require a statement from such an advisory committee in which the applicant recommended or not. Has he approached them regarding their input into the admissions process?
Last and not least, it also seems to me that Tufts nr Boston has respected med school.
