nothing to shrink back from. Especially in the present economy.

A couple of things she might want to think about...
1. How many of her classmates have jobs? And what do they pay?
2. What is setting her apart to get a $75K job right out of school?
3. How easy is it likely that she can get a similar offer after spending a year goofing off in Europe?

I can definitely see the appeal of taking the money she's saved to go do this. And at 21-22 there's a lot to be said for getting out there and having some fun.

And if she's good enough to get that kind of offer right out of school, she can probably get another one, or at least something decent. And if not, she at least had some fun, and international travel is one of the best ways to understand how the world works. Maybe she can find a way to leverage her travel experience to help make her more attractive as an employee, like speaking a couple of languages, or finding a way to do some work in her field across the pond (although visa issues make this hard).

I would not be particularly worried about safety. But then I have a warped perspective on this with 2 daughters who travel.
