A lot sound like they are speculating the job won't be there when she gets back, but have they actually communicated a start date, or has see negotiated this yet? And has she negotiated vacation or what is the time off?

Maybe she can negotiate a start date that is 2 or 3 months after graduation (not unreasonable) and she could spend 6 to 10 weeks traveling. With summer vacations, summer can be a bad time to start with a new job, especially if it is a company that brings in interns.

How is the time off organized. My current job has separate vacation/personal days and sick days and does not allow carrying over vacation from year to year. But my last on had total time off that lumped sick days in and allowed carrying over a week of vacation... so I knew a lot of healthy younger people who could easily build up days for big vacations.
