A few years back I picked up my Dodge truck after a scheduled service and drove it home. About 15 minutes into the trip I started to smell burning oil and there was smoke coming from under the hood. I pulled over and saw that they forgot to put my oil cap back on the valve cover. Oil sprayed all over the place. Fortunately the oil cap was right on the inner fender where they'd left it. I was not pleased.
About a month ago we took my wife's Volvo in for an inspection. I told them to rotate the tires while they were at it. About 150 miles and a couple weeks later I get a call from my wife and she's about 15 miles from home and is afraid to drive the car because it's shaking so violently. She tells me at this point that it has been going on for a couple weeks and was getting progressively worse. Why she waited till this point to tell me I have no idea. I drove to where she was, and you guessed it, they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of the front wheels. They had been backing out for two weeks. Lucky shy didn't kill herself or someone else.
