every Saab I've ever owned has been. If the oil is at room temp and the engine is at operating temp as it should be when you change oil, you can get pretty accurate reading after five minutes. The dipstick hangs in the middle of the tube and while some oil may cling to the walls it won't be enough to effect the reading if you pull it straight out.
