One of the few I ever really wanted was a 240Z in 1970 but I stuck with my Triumph GT6 because I couldn't afford one. In 1973 I almost bought a new Datsun 510 but ultimately bought a new VW Beetle. In the mid 80's I sold Hondas/VW's and briefly owned an '83 Accord. Nice little car but when the new '85 Jettas came out I just had to have one. I also owned a '95 Pathfinder briefly but hated the 4x4 system and dumped it after less than a year. The one Japanese car I bought voluntarily and kept was a '91 Toyota 4x4 Pickup which I drove 150,000 miles and wish I had driven another 100K--I loved it. I had a lot of Japanese cars when I had my dealership but they were strickly for resale. As for my current Subaru I didn't have a lot of AWD choices or much time to shop so I'm stuck with it for the time being. With any luck I may be changing jobs and when I do the Subaru is going away--the longer I drive it the less I like it.
