I think I might take issue with that. At that time I had a Fiat 124 sedan which was a blast to drive. It was way more sophisticatd than the 510,or as it used to be know as, a Datsun 510.
The Fiat had 4 wheel discs and a belt driven dual overhead cam engine like our Saabs do today. It was way ahead of it's time. I remember reading the comparisons in the car mags at that time about how they were both great drivers but they generally gave the nod to the 124. It's too bad they were plagued by rust. You don't see many around today, especially in New England.
