how does anyone fix anything? if you go to some generic muffler shop, that is almost guaranteed to be an aftermarket exhaust... so, some huge % of their clientele should be declined...

probably not worth your effort to fight that + just switch instead, but that is insane...

what I'm looking for is a way to insure cars based on actual use... hell, put a gps in my car + track it for all I care... insurers always ask how many km, do you drive to work, etc etc for every car... it's hard to estimate... we have 3 cars, 1 used mainly for long trips, and the other 2 used around town, 1 of which is off the road for winter (the other is off in summer to keep costs down, though I'd rather drive it once every week or 2 than have it sit)... so I have to either just pay through the nose, or limit my use (eg for a commute)... I always overestimate the actual mileage I'll put on each because I have only a limited idea a priori... I want to just be able to pick a car to drive on a given day + pay a fair rate... why is it so hard to cheaply insure a car to allow a 15-20 minute local drive once every couple weeks? (I've looked into historic car insurance also, but it's also very limiting). We put fewer miles on 3 cars than most do on 1 car, but keep them all because we like them... insurance is the only fly in the ointment... I think that actual use insurance is coming, but is not here yet in most locations... I'm jumping on it when it comes!
