I had a Cricket from late 73 until 81. The interior was so cheap that a couple days in Las Vegas melted the interior. However, it was my first small car and was fun to fling around after my previous American sled. Also my wife learned to drive a stick with it. It only died once (coil failure) while I had it. I sold it to my father who drove it for 4 years and he sold it to a friend where after a couple of more years it self-emoliated. By that time I was on my fifth Saab.
