What you need to do is come to some decision about what you want to do. And why. I'd say put off your next school adventure until you work some of this stuff out.

Film school is fine, but why do you think you want to make movies? Do you have a vision for how to tell stories with moving pictures? Can you write a strong story? Or do you want to be the guy who makes the picture jump off the screen? Have you grabbed a video cam and made some of your own little films? Do you have your own YouTube or Vimeo channel?

If you go to LA or NYC (or Toronto or Vancouver for that matter) and go to film school you'll get some great skills and experience. But understand that a LOT of folks who've been to film school wind up doing corporate video, which is a long way from making a movie. (trust me on this... part of my business is video production. I didn't go to film school.)

Movies aside, what are your passions? What gets you excited? What else are you interested in? What are some ways you can make money with them?

Since most people are innumerate or math-phobic, there are jobs out there for you. At 24 you should be able to take your math skills and get a decently-paying gig at financial services or insurance companies. Not exciting, but it pays OK and you can do that while you figure out what you want to do. And the gig can pay to help finance something you really want to do.

Bear in mind that most people work for several companies, doing often quite different things in their working lives. Because nothing is forever, especially in the working world.

In all, doing something you like is important, but you don't have to be in love with it. Life is a whole lot more than work.

That's my 5 cents.
