The better designed minivans are true marvels for their design purpose. I was blown away when I saw not only fold-flat 3rd row and storage galore, but also fold-out child seat built right into the 2nd row! Talk about the ultimate convenience in not having to move baby seats around when taking along the kid's playmates. I think minivans are the Saab's of old for a grown up family (as in head count, not old enough to be empty-nesters): practical multi-purpose vehicles that don't get the respect that they deserve. The better built ones are also excellent limos, thanks for the long wheel base.
I rented one for a while last year, and my kid thought it was like a tree house and wanted to play in it while it was parked in the drive way!
