Highlander (including the older model) and Pilot are short versions of the minivans from the respective auto makers. They are two feet shorter than the minivans and therefore easier to park in the cities. If the original poster needs AWD for transportation purpose, the higher ground clearance of those "SUV" is an asset. The smallest 3row/7passenger vehicle is the RAV4, and in V6 trim it does 0to60 in 6.2 seconds! That's half a second faster than even the new 9-5 Aero sedan! I don't think any wagon on the market today can beat that, unless Audi brings RS4 Avant here or BMW starts making V8 wagons again.
