Alot of good advise. We test drove the old Freestyle (now Taurus x) and it was very nice. The oly one not mentioned was the Hylander the old model had 3rd row seats. We have driven suv's ("cross overs") and did not like them. They just seemed so massive with not that much extra room than our 9-5 wagon. I magree with the mini van folks, don't rule them out, they are truly marvelous and, unless you need large towing capacity, make so much more sence than a big suv. I know you want all awd but I would like to point out the Mazda 5. It has seating for 6 (2x3) and decent cargo capacity withthe 3rd row down. We had a 5 speed and it was a blast to drive (it drove like a Mazda 3). Loaded it is mid 20's (new). Unfortunately the loaded version does not come with a stick now.
