No, I don't work for them and never have. All my claims have been handled fairly and quickly. When a teenager T-boned me last year his (cheap and minimum required by law) insurance company did not want to pay for new replacement parts, such as a rear door panel. USAA paid the body shop, waived the deductable and went after the other company.
Do you know of any insurance company that will pay out more than book value plus receipted things like new tires or a battery? I do not.
If you have a car that you think is worth a lot more than book you need to insure it yourself for what you think it is worth. If not, both your insuror and the other driver's will assume that you are insuring at book value.
I live in an old house with painted redwood and cedar siding. It costs more to insure at replacement value than would an otherwise similar house with vinyl siding. It works the same way with cars.
