George, I had to just ask if you work for them since you seem to think they're really fair. Have you ever been involved in an accident with someone else who carries USAA? That's my situation. I have a completely clean driving record, no speeding tickets, never been involved in an accident where I was at fault. All I want is for USAA to make it right, give me the fair value of my car or find a comparable one to replace it. They're acting like I'm lucky to be getting anything for it, as if it is some beater, and I'm sensing that you feel the same way. This isn't about MY insurance, I'm not at fault here, it's up to USAA to make this right since it was THEIR insured driver who wrecked MY car.
I'm not trying to get rich, again, all I want is the fair value of my car which was a very clean '89 900S with many new parts ($600+ in eEuro receipts) and some rare bits. Honestly I would happy with a settlement of $2k for the car since I know it was worth that before being wrecked.
Perhaps you missed this in my first post so let me repost it again here:
"Nearly a month after my well-maintained '89 900S was wrecked by one of their insured drivers, USAA Insurance won't budge on their measly $1100 offer to me, in spite of the extensive documentation including receipts and comparable ads provided to them. They simply refuse to negotiate. This is a car that I had put a lot of work into and took great care of. Everything worked and it had some rare bits including a Saab Savior skidplate, E-codes, and '79 GLE grille (I had converted it to pre-'87 lights and bumpers)."
So yes, I have the receipts to back up the value of all of these parts and USAA has simply REFUSED to accept any of them, they have all sorts of great excuses, like that it was my own personal preference to put these parts on my car so they shouldn't factor in the value.
I'm in no hurry, I have another daily driver, I'll just let the 900 sit in my driveway with a cover on it and they can drag the claim out as long as they like. I simply refuse to give into their unreasonable lowball offer and be a victim of their unethical and unprofessional business practices in the interest of a quick payment.
