Don't be afraid to drop the line of how much USAA is going to spend on legal fees as you refuse to back down and have 100% documentation of what the car is worth.

Also, getting an independent appraisal of the car from a collectors standpoint would be good documentation to have.

Insurance companies just want to see how much they can get away with. If they get the message that they are going to have to expend legal resources, they might think the difference in settlement amount look cheap.

The line "I'm not a litigious person, but you are leaving me with no other options" has worked for me the past 3 times where I knew I was going to get screwed.
