and when I was done with my Jeep Wrangler "fling" I could slink back to hearth and home and get another Saab. I figured by then Saab would have de-GMed and would have cars I'd just have to have. But I guess what you choose in a car is sort of situational and as long as I live on a deeply rutted, mud road and also need to function as an urban commando I think I'm going to want something like the Jeep, which paradoxically does a great job in either role. When the lease is up on the Jeep I'd be seriously interested in a Land Rover Evogue (or whatever the hell it is)--I mean turbo 4 cylinder, good power and mileage--not bad. Of course I'd only lease it for the length of the warranty and not a minute more. Either that or another Jeep which thus far has far exceeded all of my expectations. I am thinking about a companion piece at the moment, maybe a C900 convert or other classic Saab--I'll see what comes up. Of course if gas goes to $6 a gallon (and it probably will) then I'll just have to see what's on the market at that time--they're making some real great small cars these days and I see the trend continuing. Too bad Saab won't be a part of it.
