For some folks retirement -continuous vacation- just does not work. Those same characteristics that made you successful at your career & parenting will keep the fire burning to do something.
I am lucky in that I just love my job & the people around it- and I can keep doing that at a reduced intensity.
Give back to your community. I'm still umpiring high school baseball- it's a performance 2x per week. We started a science/engineering lecture series & class in our local high school- this is rewarding.
What are you good at? What is fun? I bet you can find a way to continue both of those & help somebody too.
