My wife and I both love what we do, unfortunately we also strongly despise our current employers for valid reasons - which can easily sour our days if we allow it.
She and I both want to stay active and have recently become more involved in community volunteering.
Our target date for ceasing regular employment is 2024. Maybe we will go from full time to part-time at this date, maybe we will already be part-time before that and will cease paid employment altogether.
We no longer enjoy the long cold winters of the upper Midwest.
We have been working with a Financial Planner for the past 10 years and will be OK in that regard, allowing us to retire early if we wanted (but which we don't).
Somewhere around 2024 our lives will make a major change and I want to start planning now for all the aspects of that change other than the financial (already done), so that this upcoming change is a gently rolling hill seen well in advance rather than a sharp cliff.
Maybe there is a book "Retirement Lifestyle Changes for Dummies"?
