I agree with you on the Fords--the Fusion is gorgeous with that Aston Martin grill. I'm impressed with the Focus every time I see one and even the Taurus is growing on me. Every time I drive my boss's Lincoln MKS (based on Taurus) I'm amazed how nice it is--I like it better than the MB S class we had previously. And they drive it more than the Bentley. I'm also driving their '95 Mercedes 320 convertible (which got me thinking about this)which really brings me back to what Mercedes used to be--it's just so elegantly simple and feels like you could drive it 300K without a second thought. Now it's all just bling and gizmos with no substance. I am happy that for the first time since the 60's there are American cars I'd be happy to own (and now do). The next 20 years will be very interesting times for cars. I'm sure India and China will start producing cars and selling them here. Alfa is suppose to be back so who knows what else will turn up, Peugeot, Citroen? I was talking to a guy with a plug-in hybrid Dodge pickup (manufacturers plates) and he said they're pretty serious about producing it. I told him if they put that in a Jeep Wrangler I'd buy two of them. So the long and the short of it is that there's a whole lot of interesting choices out there now and there will be even more in the next few years. If gas goes to $6 a gallon here there'll be a deluge of fascinating technology I just wish Saab could have been part of it.
