sportbikes should have different rules ... long

As Mark listed, sportbikes ARE different. The passing rules indicated on our public roads are for the least capable vehicles, a sportbike can get around someone so quickly, in such a short distance that it's not logical to assume it should have the same limitations.
Most people see my bike and assume "crotch rocket", but it actually falls somewhere between sportbike and sport-tourer. I know what it's capable of, and that brings a grin to my face, but imagining what a "true", modern liter (or even wound-up 600) sportbike can do is difficult. Trust me, most of you "cagers" can't imagine it.
Now I'm certainly going to defend the actions of all sportbike riders. Many of them are morons, irresponsible and unskilled. There is also the very real possibility of the brain-dead cager making a left turn without signalling.
But, I use different rules on my bike than when I'm in my Aero.

p.s.
Even though I apply different rules, I realize the law is the same for all. If I'm caught, I'd try my best to dissuade the officer from a ticket, but if I can't, so be it.
