Stuff happens at speed and things can go wrong very quickly. Here's a video (posted on another forum I belong to) of a highly capable car (with a poor driver) passing in a no-passing zone - surprise, he lost control. Fortunately, no oncoming cars or motorcycles were present. Perhaps you are a better driver than this guy, but not everyone is.
