Depends on many factors... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 8 Nov 2012 06:57:30 In Reply to: That's what I pay for EACH, Les H, Wed, 7 Nov 2012 20:22:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
location is a big one. Another is the type of car. very hard to compare prices without all the information.
I have 2 c900's and a newish 9-5, but I swap the 900's around winter and fall, so mostly have 2 cars on at a time and pay about $1000/y (2 drivers with clean records). Like Tim, I prefer to have basic liability coverage and not much else: only insure that which you can not afford to replace out of pocket. So I only have the basics for the c900 but the 9-5 has full coverage (mainly because it was a very small incremental cost increase), though I'll probably take it off soon, as it's valuation is probably low enough to be a non-issue... I was surprised how little difference it makes now though!
what was interesting to me was that the c900 is much cheaper to insure than the 9-5, not only from a collision value/cost perspective but even on the personal injury segments... I think there is something funny with how they calculate the rates here because the 9-5 is objectively safer (though the c900 is remarkably safe even by today's standards, at least in terms of injury rates)...
