it's very easy to change insurers... don't do it too often, but I didn't have any issue at all switching once.
One thing you can do is fill in numbers on Belair direct's website and do some "what if" analysis... I did that, though ultimately I didn't buy insurance from them because while auto was about the same or cheaper than Meloche, home was waaay more and I wanted the combined discount...
The 9000 probably fits in between the c900 and a 9-5 in cost to insure... the Aero tag might not be helpful in that regard (anything performance oriented suggests higher risk - though apparently not the colour red). The civic might be more because that vintage is more prone to theft, and probably doesn't have as good real life safety as the saab (or at least higher frequency of collisions per capita etc)... I was initially trying to figure out why a buddy of mine with a Subie and multiple claims had lower insurance (with Meloche) than us with a clean record (before we switched)... when I put the Impreza (his model year etc) into Belair, I saw it would be more expensive than the c900 in Belair... that was enough impetus for us to switch - our old company had been charging waaaay too much! try playing around with different car models or just 1 of your cars at a time and see what happens... learned a lot from this...
