No kidding: Michigan is #1 in today's MSN Money article Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 9 Nov 2012 09:09:59 In Reply to: The answer is C - see my post below this one, RodM, Thu, 8 Nov 2012 18:08:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Michigan now has the highest auto insurance rates in the country, due heavily to a rider in the No Fault law which provides lifetime medical coverage for automobile accident victims.
I knew this coverage wasn't cheap but I didn't realize it had already pushed Michigan to the unenviable #1 position.
I pay about $1300 per year for our two Saabs with similar coverage as you, but my coverage costs include the Umbrella match. I can only buy an umbrella policy if each of the other insurances (auto and home in our case) contain liability coverage equal to the umbrella value. The umbrella policy then supplements the other liability amounts rather than replaces their liability coverages. Another Michigan insurance law I believe.
