Thanks for all the great input. I got more info on a Camping Forum I belong to since those guys use them every day. I was looking for a portable generator to just get by during an outage. I did not want power my whole house or keep alot of gasoline on hand. The Inverter Generators from Honda and Yamaha are very very quite (important to me) and efficiant (also important). Sizes go from 1000W to 3000W. Some can even be combined. they are efficiant because they do not run at full capacity all the time like most generators. They also output a much "cleaner" current so yo can even run sensitive equipment off them without protection. The 2000W model will run for 4 hrs on 1 gal of gas at full load. After seeing all those people looking for gas everyday to feed those hungry generators, I gigured there had to be a better way.
