Yes the 220hp is plenty of power. I have the 6 speed auto with the manual shift available which I think they all have. From a dead stop it gets up just fine. The only car that I've had as a daily driver that was faster was a G35 Coupe back when they first came out. That car was very light and fast. Just needed a turbo :).
The only thing that I would say is if you want to be aggressive on the highway the second OD is geared so high that it's better to shift yourself down to 4th yourself rather than wait for the kick-down. I've had two situations where I stuffed my foot into it and there was nothing for a few seconds waiting for some gear and some boost. It's a little disconcerting when you expect something to happen and nothing happens. I'm fairly certain it's more of a factor of the gearing than the HP.
