It's going to be tight. The door molding to perpendicular wall space is slightly bigger than a 2 gang box, and I don't know where the studs are. The current single gang box is centered between molding and wall. Assuming the current box is on a stud, I'm not going to have room from stud to wall. If it's hanging in the plaster (not sheetrock, 1941 house), then I can do the creative retrofit...
