Just be glad you have traditional switches... Sounds like you've got a plan.
My house was built in 1956 with low-voltage Touch-Plate switches. Every switch in the house has a small wire leading to the basement where there are three relay panels. Click the switch in my second floor bedroom, a relay pops (loudly) in the basement, and my light turns on. The downstairs bedroom has a NASA-style switch panel on the wall that controls the whole house. I can't add dimmer switches or move stuff around without rewiring everything and eliminating the Touch-Plates. On the plus side, if I want to drop a few grand someday I can retrofit it to a modern Touch-Plate system and create "scenes" and control everything from the internet.
