Exactamundo.
My favorite 'green' boondoggle is wind and solar energy and their negative impact on the land.
In my own piece of the high desert, they just sucked up a few more square miles of beautiful desert grassland at the southern base of the Tehachapi Mtns for an ugly windfarm, with additional dead birds, massive concrete bases, and vibration / hum for the wildlife to enjoy in the offing. Save the planet, go green!
Ditto for the 2-3 square miles of grassland they sucked up for a new solar 'farm' adjacent to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. From now on in the spring wildflower season, instead of looking at orange poppies off to the north horizon from the reserve's hills, you'll have to protect your eyes from the glare from vast arrays of solar reflecting panels. A housing subdivision would've been better for the land. Save the planet, go green!
And then there are the bundlers/campaign contributors of certain recently re-elected politicians who seem to have received much of the 'green' largesse. And don't even get me started on the increase in net worth of a former VP and presidential candidate since he figured out that 'green' pays big. He could almost buy the recent loser of the presidential election for cash.
Your tax dollars at work, etc...
Rant. Over.
