For use on local streets, IMHO. Kids, cyclists, pedestrians, drunks, jaywalkers (like me), crazy cabbies, etc.: TOO MUCH going on.

However, I think we'll see them for highway use--possibly limited to interstates under certain conditions for some period so they can be proven safe and reliable. On a long trip it could have advantages for some people, but then those people should probably not be driving to begin with.

I'd want autonomous cars really tightly limited until they are proven safe, and also have them be clearly marked, with a different type of license plate and perhaps some kind of signal light. So people can avoid the things!
