I don't remember the Forester being easy to see out of. iirc, there was always a head rest blocking my view. otoh, I do remember the atrocious handling - body roll was bad, but the whole car twisted around a vertical axis through the middle of the car. Just awful. Even my suby lemming friends agree that that one was a stinker. They seem to prefer the Crosstrek now. I haven't driven one yet though.
WRT buicks... in hindsight, I think the big turn off for me with the NG9-5 was that it really did not feel much like a SAAB to me... it was much more like a nice buick. GM seems to have carried that forward and the new buicks are really nice buicks, but they still aren't saabs, or that saab-like to me (except that GM "borrowed" some of the tech like the turbo motors). I really was not surprised that the NG9-5 did not sell to well. It was way too big for me! Things like isolation of road noise really don't factor into my car checklist, but I agree that they should be important in a Buick. Kind of similar but different to how some say a Kia Optima turbo is "just like a 9-5"... well some similar features and decent enough, but lots of things that fly in the face of what I like in SAABs...
